Groundwater recharge and the retention and controlled discharge of stormwater into the receiving water are two central topics of surface water management. Classically, retention basins or storage channels are used here.

The ACO Stormbrixx block infiltration system provides an additional innovative and optimal solution: In infiltration the previously collected and treated surface water is collected in the ACO Stormbrixx system. From there it is gradually discharged into the soil and promotes groundwater recharge.

Encased in a waterproofing geomembrane, a type of tank is formed, where the previously collected and cleaned surface water is stored in. With a time delay, the water will be discharged into the receiving water. The controlled discharge of surface water into sewers or the receiving water is becoming increasingly important, especially in case of heavy rainfall events. In this way, the peak runoff of the surface water of a storm is spread over a longer period and is therefore reduced.

Ecyclable polypropylene material provides a robust and corrosion-resistant basis for a long-lasting infiltration system. ACO Stormbrixx adopts 100% polypropylene material, which is recyclable and environmental-friendly.

Basic elements can be cut in half to allow integration into the overall system.

Basic elements are layed and connected together in pattern in order to create structural rigidity in the overall system.

Functional design combined with an intelligent snap-lock system make for problem-free handling and rapid installation.

Side panel perimeters for the entire system offer a sound base for laying the geotextile wrapper.

The pillars are also filled with storm water. Small openings at the base of the pillars optimise water treatment in the product.

Thanks to the open structure of ACO Stormbrixx, inspection cameras and cleaning devices can have free passage through the system.

Both the basic elements and the side panels, as well as the covers for the ACO Stormbrixx infiltration system stack perfectly for ease of transport. The building blocks fit into each other precisely, thus reducing the volume to be transported compared to traditional systems, resulting in substantially lower transport costs and CO2 emissions.

Creep test is the most important indicator to evaluate the safe capability of Stormbrixx. Both ACO’s Stormbrixx SD and HD have passed the creep test (up to 3000 hours) through third-party professional institutes, and the deformation after 50 years as well as lifespan can be calculated.

Recyclable polypropylene material, rigorous production process control and continuous tests are the guarantee of ACO’s product quality.

Controlled release – attenuation of storm water

During heavy rainfall, large volumes of rainwater can enter the ACO Stormbrixx for temporary storage, and then it can be released in a time-delay fashion into the watercourse or sewage system. Therefore, the problems of excess surface water and limited drainage capacity can be relieved.
